How texting works
This page shows how people get texts from businesses that use Gofer Works, what those texts say, and how to stop them. Full details are in our SMS terms and privacy policy.
1. Calling a business
A customer calls the business's public phone number. If nobody answers, the caller hears:
“Sorry we missed your call. We'll send you a text in a moment to help. Reply STOP to that text if you'd rather not get texts.”
One text reply is then sent. More texts are sent only if the customer replies.
2. Replies and stopping
Texts continue only while the customer keeps replying. Replying STOP ends all texts from that number. Replying HELP gets contact details. We do not send marketing texts.
Sample messages
- First text after a missed call: “Hi, this is Summit Heating & Air. Sorry we missed your call, we're out on a job. What can we help with? Reply STOP to opt out.”
- Booking confirmation: “You're booked with Summit Heating & Air for Tue 1–3 PM. Your tech will text when they're on the way. Reply STOP to opt out.”
- Reply to HELP: “Summit Heating & Air texts via Gofer Works. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Help: hello@goferworks.com. Reply STOP to opt out.”
- Reply to STOP: “You're unsubscribed from Summit Heating & Air texts and won't get more messages. Reply START to resubscribe.”
Summit Heating & Air is a made-up example business.
